[ upon getting on the elevator again presumably activating it to go lower once again, nothing seems out of place for them. no other cloaked figures get on as they decide to take the stairs instead. some will give them a look as they embark on the elevator but do nothing about it.
and as they descend below, there are still no signs of anything else immediately jumping out of them and the scenery from above does not change. there is only just more machinery, platforms, rooms, and more cloaked figures mulling about in the space between the sections. however, as they go down further, they'll notice two things, one that the number of blank cloaked figures will decrease in numbers and second that they'll start feel a sort of weight being pressed upon them. it isn't too uncomfortable, but just as though someone is pushing down on their chests.
it seems, as well, that the ride between the section that they were on and the next section will be some distance as they're still going without the elevator making any obvious signs of stopping just yet. ]

now, as they look for the control panel they will be able to see that it is extremely simplistic. there's a button clearly labeled "stop" and "start" as well as a few other buttons that aren't labeled but must do something....even if it isn't immediately clear what that something is. what do next boys? ]
[ congrats! you have stopped the elevator however....there is not a platform anywhere nearby. the in-between area of the sections are not exactly walled off, but they come with some level of railing to protect those from falling to their doom with a misstep. they could scale support bars that make up the elevator and make their way towards the edges so that they are able to jump to the staircase and continue that way. however, there will be no railing or anything aside from the bars that they will be using to cross. so it may end terribly if they jumped with reckless abandon.
if they choose to walk across the bars, then hopefully all of them have good balance to make it across back to the sides. it isn't a long balancing walk for them to do but if they can suffer from vertigo then best keep eyes forward. of course, we can never forget about the pressure pushing down on them. ]
[Kim does not trust his athletic abilities. He tries to slowly balance his way across with the utmost caution... and loses his footing anyway. There is a moment of absolute terror that they all get to perceive before Diluc thankfully grabs him.

[ it will be a dicey situation for akira, but he'll be able to make it across to the other side and then find himself pressed against the side of the stair way. he'll have to shuffle a bit to make room for diluc and kim, when they make it over, to fit along the side with him. who, of course, things don't look that great for kim but thanks diluc! he'll be able to catch him and the two of them will have no issue getting across.
now, they'll have to some shuffling against the side/ledge until they reach a proper landing or opening where they can get to the stair case. however, during this little exercise, they'll feel a vibration reverberate through the "tower" as they move. there will be no sound that they'll be able to hear but the know that it'll be coming from the depths and whatever is lower down from where they are. do they want to do a quick look around to understand their surroundings before moving on or do they just press forward? ]
[Something about that vibration triggers a sense of dread in Kim -- a reminder of something he's felt before. An oppressive emptiness, silent and deafening all at once.

[ they've found themselves in the middle of two sections, "layers", where there are plenty of stairway left ahead of them without a clear sign of how far they're supposed to go before they reach the next area. there will be "windows" against the wall and catwalks below them that cross the hole leading into different parts of the outer edge.
as for the matter of the number of cloaked figures, they won't see any on their same level, but they will see some directly below them walking about—this one with lightning bolts engraved on the ends. they'll seem to have something in their hands as they walk past them without minding them. but they'll be the only on that they'll see immediately in their area. looking further ahead of them will show a small trickle of the cloaked figures descending down the stairs without ease.
clearly they're not bothered by this pressure or even seem to notice it. the vibrations kick up once more and, again, it means nothing to the cloaked figures. just another day in the ""office"" for them, apparently. ]
Good. [ Akira will take a look out a window, but aside from that down seems to be the way to go. The vibrations are also a thing but it's not like he's turning back at this point. ]

[ outside the "window" will prove to have the most curious sight which is...nothing. he'll be able to make out that they're in another tunnel of sorts since the surface of the "ground" outside of the window will be smooth and reflect some of the light from where they are. for...however that's supposed to be understood.
