I see. So really, the most you would be able to tell us is whether they're still alive or not.

[ Checks out with what YHJ said earlier, seems like. Vosgetel makes room for them without much fuss.

Though something about the Watchers being connected to them the same way they are their souls still rings... Nevermind. ]

... Have you sorted out the mechanisms you said you were trying to last time? The exchanges, I mean?

'Stack?' Could you elaborate on that, please?

[ hmm... ]

Would it be possible to reenstate the pact with our Mana? [ or, well, if suriel is right and the link isn't actually gone, ] Or reactivate or re-establish access to it somehow, I'm not sure which is more appropriate. And would the abilities they grant us count as a separate trade?

[ small... section... of the mana...

he coughs lightly into a hand. ]

I'm afraid there's some sort of misunderstanding here. Our Mana are discrete beings. Ulrika's from what I understand is practically a child. Mine is a... [ meddling old wolf........... ] ...n older soul. They're supposed to be connected to us in a manner not unlike the way you are to us, or we are to our daemons, and willingly lend us their power should we need it.

[ can't pact with a mana against its will, after all... and yeah so his offhand comment about them supplanting another link. anyway. ]

Getting them back in... sections, even if they are, essentially, manifested energy, would be a bit morbid.

[ he just. pinches the bridge of his nose for a moment. all right, mental image dealt with.

so he wouldn't be able to call Eital in defense, huh, just manifest a simulacrum of what she granted him...

perhaps not Judgment then, since that's herself, fang and claw and all, but the Drives might be doable... Unless? ]

Perhaps this particular suggestion might have to wait for another time, since I have another idea in mind already, but-- if I wouldn't be able to call her, would a... reflection of her with no true mind of its own be reasonable?

Then I'll request that of another Watcher later, perhaps.

From you, I'll ask this: a technique her domain over light granted me was to cleanse and protect myself and others from any unnatural ailment or untoward influence for some time.

[ 'the sanctuary of light'... in rpg terms it's a status cure + status null until the affected party members switch out. none curse, poison, sleep, or that kind of nonsense here. protection from bad. ]

What payment would you ask for that?

[ this is fine i just realized i left this hanging after murder and gy plot, cries in my satariel cr

anyway a childhood story... this is miserable, what part of his childhood would make an interesting story? watch mauyn lean heavily on headcanon for this because roxis barely tells us anything ingame. ]

... I grew up as the only child of an old house, but my upbringing was a bit unorthodox. My father traveled often in order to earn our livings. When I was young he taught me his skill with cards, and as I grew a bit older sometimes he'd bring me along with him. One time when he did so, I thought I'd try to test myself by doing the sort of thing he'd do at a tavern.

[ play card games and rob people of their money. except: ]

It turns out, whether or not you're actually doing anything to cheat, if you start winning a little too often, and especially at the same table of drunkards for the entire night...

[ well. ]

Needless to say, we left in a hurry, and I learned that sometimes it's better to throw a few games or fold on otherwise perfectly playable hands just to avoid repeat occurrences of that.
