[sheba's expression is a little anxious when she first flickers into existence (half-existence?) in his room - but relieved, immediately, once she's able to see him. she also knows that she can't actually speak, but that doesn't stop her from trying anyway.
predictably, nothing happens. her lips move, but there's no sound.
instead, she immediately glances at where he's been injured, and her expression tightens. there's a faint light coming from her hands, and then a moment later, he'll feel some of those wounds starting to mend themselves.
[ diluc is resting, kaeya having just left him to grab snacks from the eleven seven, so he's caught completely off guard when suddenly... ]
Sheba?
[ he can feel multiple wounds over his body closing and healing, the pain becoming more bearable. but that's not even what he's focusing on right now, because hello??? his daughter!!!! ]
Oh Archons, it is you...[ he moves a little too fast, standing on wobbly legs, and winces. sir you're still hurt in some places, please sit down. and he does, right on the edge of the bed.
is he teary eyed? a little bit, just very fond and happy to see her. a warm smile on his face. canopus, meanwhile, is losing it and running circles around sheba's ghostly form. ฅ(=චᆽච=ฅ)]
I am beyond happy to see you...I miss you terribly.
[i. hello? diluc? why are you trying to stand?? sheba gestures rapidly at his bed, her brows furrowing.
alas, she's intangible, so she can't give him a hug (or give canopus a pet) like she wants to, but she mimes hugging him and then kneels down to mime petting canopus. she doesn't actually touch either one of them; it'd probably be weird for her hands and arms to pass right through them.
but she looks up at him, and her expression softens a little. nodding once, she gestures at herself, then gestures at him.]
[ canopus meows up at sheba, pawing at her and looking shocked when her paw just passes through. sad cat noises.
diluc mimes hugging her back, smile faltering only a little bit, as he wishes he could properly hug her and pick her up, spin her around and ruffle her hair. but it's alright, just seeing her is enough for now. ]
Kaeya's going to be upset he missed you. Though I suppose I'm the only one who can see you, hm?
[nooo, canopus. sheba looks down, a little distressed at the sound of those sad cat noises, and mimes petting the daemon again. sorry buddy. :(
attention back to diluc when he speaks, though -
her expression is a little unsure - though it flickers into something sad when he says kaeya will be upset - but she nods just after he voices his question.
then, after a moment, she tilts her head to one side, brings both of her hands together, folded slightly like fists to make a slightly circular shape... before parting them and moving her hands vaguely upwards. jazz hands.
her expression is inquisitive, if a little frustrated. not talking is hard.]
[her expression brightens up a little at that. she smiles back at him, grateful, when he says he'll say hello to kaeya for her, and mimes another hug.
but also...
!
her expression is immediately relieved when he mentions the dust bomb, and she nods twice, then cocks her head to one side, giving him her full attention. her glance goes briefly to where she'd seen his injuries before returning to his face.
...he got hurt there, but he's going to be okay. he's had some healing. kaeya is sure to be here soon to watch over him. it's fine.
[ he sees how her expression changes and frowns. ]
I'll be alright, Sheba, I promise.
[ he smiles again, before leaning forward to give her a small bow, don't sorry he won't try to stand again. ]
You have been of great help, healing these wounds and also just...being here. Thank you.
[ there's a look of sadness in his eyes as he says this, while he is happy to see her, he also knows their time together like this is short...and he doesn't wish to say goodbye, yet, or again. ]
she wishes she could be here for longer. she wishes she'd never left him at all. how different would things be, she wonders, if she'd managed to survive, that night in camebit? ...but even if she had, she probably wouldn't have survived the weekend. hell, she probably wouldn't have made it two minutes into friday morning without admitting what she'd done, unless the angels' keep-your-mouth-shut compulsion passed on to her.
murder in self-defense is still murder; without any other suspects, she...
agh. she doesn't want to think about that. she wants to stay here with diluc and be grateful for the time she has with him. she wishes she could speak; that much is obvious in her expression.
but then - after a few moments pass - she looks down at her hands, and realizes she looks a little more faded than before.
ah.
is her time up?
she gestures to get diluc's attention, and waits to make sure she's met his eyes.
she gestures once at herself.
then she makes a heart with her fingers.
and then she gestures to diluc.
there's maybe a moment or two before she vanishes from his sight entirely.]

he sees the way her expression drops and that breaks his heart a little, but still he is glad to have her here, regardless of how long it'll last. ]
I'll be sure to let him know you say hi. [ he smiles warmly at her.
the next round of gestures is understood right away and he nods. ]
The dust bomb...we saw it in that place. [ thinks. ] Or well...a version of it. It wasn't the first and I'm certain it won't be the last.
