WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Gone are the familiar sights and sounds of your own world, replaced instead by narrow streets with haphazardly arranged buildings covered in faded, peeling paint, as if you’d simply stepped through a door into a new world. A city long past its prime sprawls before you, empty and abandoned, with no sign of where its population could have gone or even how you arrived here.
The suffocating, eerie silence of the city means footsteps echo in the alleyways, and makes it all the easier to hear something odd. Is something following you? Something tells you that you aren’t in any danger, though, so perhaps it is safe to turn and see what’s there.
An animal looks back at you, as if you are its whole world. Its name feels obvious, as if it has always been there at your side, always been a part of you. And you know, instinctively, that this creature knows you better than anyone ever could.
You will both be safe, as long as you are together.
That’s what the angels will tell you, anyway, once you reach their tower in the center of the city. They offer to help you get settled in, but they don’t exactly mention how you’re supposed to get home. Guardian angels just aren't what they used to be.

Welcome to
Gameplay
Each week, at least one character will be murdered. Those remaining will have to work together to try to figure out what happened, in addition to unraveling the mystery surrounding the higher powers and why characters have been pulled into their war.
This game will feature a number of hidden roles. More information will be given to those who are chosen for these roles. Please note that players with roles should keep them an IC and OOC secret!
If you are not chosen for a role, don't worry! There will be plenty to keep you busy!

Schedule
FRIDAY: Death day! Unlike recent games, we will not be hosting any investigations on this day, but characters will receive a brief announcement regarding the week's victims, posted at 12PM EST / 9AM PST / 5PM GMT / 1AM JST / 4AM NZST.
SATURDAY: Time for trial! Trials begin at 12PM EST / 9AM PST / 5PM GMT / 1AM JST / 4AM NZST and will continue until 9PM EST / 6PM PST / 2AM GMT / 10AM JST / 1PM NZST. We will also be holding a break for players to step away if needed, while mod breaks will be at varied times so we may continue with mod tags. More details on timing for those will come at trial start! We do ask for players to be available for trials, but in the event that you need to miss a trial, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance so we may plan accordingly.
Character attendance is mandatory, and they will have nine hours to investigate, test theories, and try to solve the murder and vote for a culprit before time is up. OOCly, players must submit their character's vote to a screened post.
Once the votes have been tallied, we will announce who has received the majority of votes.
SUNDAY: Finally, it's execution day. Executions will begin at 1PM EST / 10AM PST / 6PM GMT / 2AM JST / 5AM NZST, though this time may change as needed to accomodate involved parties. Attendance is not mandatory unless your character has been chosen as executioner, but these events will be open to the public to witness.
This cycle will continue until we reach an ending to the game. For a full list of times, please see this spreadsheet, which will be pinned in the Discord server for reference.
Additionally, for those of you who will receive roles, we will provide you with your schedule at the time of acceptance and role introduction.

faq
Our game will be running on a 1:1 schedule. Please refer to the above timeline for when important posts will go up, and note that we will be posting the times for each time zone in the Discord server headers, as well.
Do I have to be present for every trial?
If something comes up and you are unable to be present for a trial, please let us know in advance! We prefer 48 hours in advance (minimum 24 unless it's an emergency), but if you come to us really early before the trial starts or in the first hour of the trial we will be a bit lenient. If you do not let us know in advance, you will be killed off in-game.
How long will the game last?
We're aiming for a minimum of six and a maximum of eight weeks!
Should a player need to leave the game prior to endgame, please speak with the mod team and we will discuss the next steps with you.
If I die early what happens next?
We will have a graveyard for characters to continue playing in and participating in! You can do open threads on the main graveyard post, or you may have private conversations with other dead characters. In addition, characters in the graveyard will be presented with opportunities the living side does not have access to.
Private conversations?
Private conversations! Sometimes your character (or a group of characters) will want to get together with people to spend time together or share information or whatever. This would become a private conversation that isn't shared with the game at large. Please check out the private conversations page for information on how to set up journal filters and more.
How active do I have to be?
We like to see that players are participating either via weekly mingles, private threads, or both in addition to participation in trials! The game functions best when all players are active and engaging, so please keep this in mind when apping in! We ask that your time be managed well.
Additionally, if you have a role, we will ask for a little extra higher activity to be around for coordination purposes, etc.
How do I contact the mod team for any questions/concerns/murder plans?
We will be operating primarily on Discord, so please be sure to create a group chat with Snow, Naru, and Ray! Discord is the most effective method for all of your mods, and our Discord handles will be available in the group server.
We also have a feedback post with comments screened, should that be your preferred method of communication.

Rules
2. Please be active! There's no need to be around 24/7 and tagging all the time (take breaks when you need to!), but please try to be as around as much as possible.
3. As with past games, there will be secrets in-game and OOC, and we ask that you keep them secret! Some things may come up ICly at a later date, of course, but until they do, please do not share your secrets with others OOCly.
4. Please remember that, due to the game's nature as a murdergame, your character is just as likely to die as the next, and at any moment. Depending on the circumstances, death may not be limited to Thursday nights. But don't worry - there will be things for the dead to do.
5. Please remember that canon powers and abilities will be nerfed for the time being! While your character may be the strongest most powerful person in their canon, it will not mean much here. Sorry!
6. Finally, if you have any concerns or feel uncomfortable about something in-game at any time, please contact the mods via Discord or our feedback post! Again, this is a game for our friends, so we hope that you guys will come talk to us immediately so that we can get things straightened out and help where we can. Please do not feel as though any concern is too small or insignificant. As mods, we're here to help make everyone feel welcome and have a good time.
