[ ah. there's something sad about this and it's not like she doesn't understand. her voice gentle: ] ...would you want to run away for good? Or...would you just want a break from things. Just a bit more time to do something before needing to go back and do what it is that you need to do? [ softly.] I don't think you could ever leave Rin.

I've already left him once. I can't do that again.

But this is the first time I've ever had a break. [ever. and it's a murdergame.]

I think I'm more tired than I realized. [and now that he's taken a lot of important, stressful things and shoved them in a mental file labeled "deal with when I get home", he doesn't really want to think about them again.]

[ ah. now, isn't that just said but not surprising to her. ] Then I don't think that's being a coward. If you need to rest for a while, you should allow it to yourself. [ words not said easily because she's vaguely aware of his situation but she's very aware of her's. ] I'm in the middle of something myself so if you were to come with me it might not be much better. [ gazes at her canon point with the longest stare. ] ...not right away anyway.

[reflash]

[He shakes his head.]

I can't. My brother will be going home, and I can't leave him. I have to go back, and I have to see everything through.

[grigori]

[ somehow...this was expected. ] I never said you wouldn't go back, but just that a break shouldn't be impossible. [ gently. ] A day or even a few more hours. Rin could take one, too, I don't think he would be against it.

[reflash]

... could we? Just for a few hours, after this is all over.

[grigori]

I don't see why we couldn't. It's not as though I think too many of us would go running away back home as soon as they were given the chance without at least saying goodbyes.

[reflash]

I'd like to spend a few more hours with you, if that's all right.

[grigori]

[ if she were the type to tease him more about something like this... ] Of course! Why wouldn't it be all right? I'd like that as well.

[reflash]

[dodged a bullet there by liking a nice girl]

Well then, it's a date. [he said it, he said "date"!!]

[ she'll tease in other ways...probably. or just has moments where she forgets about personal space. pick your choice? ] I hope we can have a good one. I'd like to go somewhere nice. [ he sure did and she'll smile at it. ]

Is there anywhere in particular you'd like to go?

[grigori]

Hmmm... If we were in Japan, I'd say that the aquarium in Osaka would have been fun. I'd like to see a whale shark in person. [ she's fully aware that they both probably exist in some sort of tokyo area place. kind of. ] But that's if we're thinking of just going to anywhere at all.

[reflash]

They have a lot of penguins there too. [an aquarium date sounds really cute

but that won't happen, will it. this is all such a temporary thing.]

But we should probably think a little more... realistically.

[grigori]

[ ah. him and the penguins again... she's honestly curious to see how he'd be like in person around them. ...especially to listen to him while he's doing something he enjoys. ] We should but—maybe we shouldn't either. Let's be greedy and demand everything. It's like what they say: if you're going to dream then dream big.

[reflash]

Everything? [Oh, she's cute.]

All right. Then let's go out for sushi afterwards.

[Is that demanding everything? It seems like for Yukio it is.]

[grigori]

[ honestly? any step is a step forward for her. ] Sushi? Okay, that sounds like a good way to do next. I haven't spent much time in Osaka before, so I'd hope we wouldn't spend too much time. Oh! I've heard of a really good place to get some katsudon if you're interested in that too.

[reflash]

Well, it would be rude of us to turn down a recommended location. [Two food stops, an aquarium...]

If we're in Osaka, we should go see the castle.
