Well, how I met the kid involves a nasty part.

I actually broke him out of a cage. Though I think he felt badly for running at the time, I told him later it was actually pretty smart.

Yeah? So, I'm guessing that the main part of this adventure is pretty nasty since there's quite a lot missing here.

Not surprising. A kid in a cage.

[ rameel doesn't sound too enthused to hear that. ]

Human experimentation focused on separating children from their daemons is pretty nasty, to put it mildly.

...and you found something that you think belongs to me in a place like that.

One of the others might've found something.

This was just something that kid kept dropping when he said he'd give it to his brother.

hm, well, yes. thanks that hit a nerve. imagine that. ]

If the point of these adventures is to make them as uncomfortable as possible—I have an idea where this is going to go.

Something bad happens to that brother, right?

...I'm glad you were able to save the two of them. If only that could be a true story.

[ and with that moment rameel will "laugh" for a moment as he fiddles with the edge of his mask for a moment. ]

And why do you think that's mine? The other Watcher whose item hasn't been found is Shamiel, I believe. You don't think it belongs to them?

But more than that. He had red hair and seemed to have certain ideas about how heroes are.

This could only belong to him or his brother. Are you saying Shamsiel is your brother, then?

Shamsiel? My brother? [ they're going to have a moment to laugh about that because wow! that's? really? funny.... ] Baraqiel would have my entire head on a platter if I tried that joke. Shamsiel has too redeeming qualities going for them compared to me.

[ a heavy sigh a drop of their mood into something significantly heavier. ]

Yeah, it's mine. I made it for someone, but it wasn't for my brother.

[yes, he also thought it was a rather silly idea. hence why he said it.]

Well, fortunately, that child version of you kept dropping it so I managed to pick it up.

[and he holds it out again.]

But that's also why you shouldn't drop it again, if it's that important.

[ unknowingly, allen has gained 5 pts towards being in better graces with rameel. not that he immediately shows it by looking away. ]

Just because it's important to me, doesn't mean I want it back.

It brings back even more unpleasant memories.

[Allen's quiet for a moment.

and then he pulls a certain jar full of golden sand out of his pocket. and puts it down on the table in front of him.]

... I'd like you to meet my oldest companion--a golden golem my master created. Timcanpy. I tried to leave him behind, along with my other comrades, before I got pulled into this mess but... somehow he was there, too.

It's sad--it hurts, but... that's mostly because I remember there were once good memories. Not just... how things ended.

[ ...tim being used against me even though i was the one who gave tim out as a reward but rameel will take a long look at the jar as he listens to its meaning.

and he will be rewarded(?) ]

I agreed to become a Temporal so I could undo the reason why I would have made that toy to begin with.

Two people who I care for—I'd die for—are in a situation where none of us will survive and that toy is a reminder of that. My "sin". I know it's selfish and egotistical but the brain can't always win.

After everything that's happened since you made that agreement, do you really think the other party will follow through on their side of the bargain?

Oh, absolutely not.

[ he'll say with a huff as he then points to the spot of his missing wing. ]

Especially everything that I've said to earn myself this? There's absolutely no chance that they're going to do anything for me, Yomiel, or Satariel ever again.

... then, I won't force it on you. It probably sounds a bit backwards, but I think... if it's important enough that you'd try to erase it once, it's important for remembering how you got to where you are now.

So I'll hold onto it. [and this is a smile that speaks to older times when he's offered and done something similar for others.] Don't worry, I'm actually pretty good at remembering things others don't want to or can't.

'It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you don't know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, you don't know where you're going. And if you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.'

[ all said from memory and with some level of practice as they eye the cat toy again. ]

...or something like that, right? [ he'll say with a bit of a smile. ] But yeah; hang onto it for me for a bit longer. I imagine after everything, you'd be the last person who would let themselves lose it.

Something like that, yeah.

[though, honestly, Allen Walker is kind of garbage at knowing those answers for himself--othewise, Tyki Mikk wouldn't be so damn right about some things. but he's at least decent at remembering for others.]

If something should happen to me, I'll at least make sure it's somewhere safe you can get to.

[grigori]

[ sometimes you just have more than one person living inside of you and you just have to learn how to deal with that(?) but rameel is going to put a hand on allen's head and a little ruffle. ]

I say this as a personal statement and only as a personal statement, but may nothing happen to you that would take you out of the running.

... probably now's a poor time to mention I've completed my task, right?

You're taking care of something that's important to me. Maybe it'll be a good luck charm this time.

No, not at all. So? What did you learn?

Maybe.

And I've learned that other people find me a much harder read than I find them. [ha.] But also that Kaeya learned the art of the sword from Diluc's father. And Miss Monika was starting to learn the piano before she came here.
