It's kind of interesting that that's the case... when a lot of this seems to have things in common with it.

Ah, basically, I heard from my master that even though a certain forbidden fruit in a story from it is said to be an "apple", apples didn't really grow in the region the story took place. Some people think it was a pomegranate or something like that instead.

We kind of have... otherworldly beings, I guess? Which are from the realm where magic comes from. So some of the stuff isn't too weird to me, but there's still some things in common.

That's funny, though. Did your master have any theories or anything like that to explain why people said it was an apple?

Well, mistranslations is the lead suspect in that.

But it's also that the fruit itself might not have existed at all. That it's just a metaphor for something else.

But what kind of magic are you more familiar with? Even what magic I know is a technology of some kind.

Huh! I wonder what it could've been, then... if not for a fruit, whatever metaphor it was supposed to be.

[ weird. but they fold their hands together, palm-to-palm, fingertips pointed towards. ]

I can't tell you a lot of specifics, but there's all kinds of magic. Protection, green magic - I can do that, now, as a Watcher, which is controlling plants - divination, concealment... a lot I don't know. I only started learning about it for real before I became a Watcher. I found out someone that helped raise me actually uses magic in her food! She never told me!

Knowledge. Of a certain sort.

[Forbidden Knowledge, at that. but he cocks his head a bit, curious at the magic talk.]

In her food? Whatever for?

... huh. [ turning that over.

but his question gets their attention. ]

There's a soup that she makes, it'll warm you up from the inside out, make you feel like you're being embraced. And it'll fill you up so that you're not hungry, or that you feel better, if you're sick or hurt.

Oh! Do you happen to know how to make that particular soup?

[that sounds 1) delicious and 2) like something Allen Walker could use forever]

A little! She made it in front of me, and I learned what was magic about it. But I can probably replicate it as a Watcher, anyways.

[ i mean, they would do this for human garbage disposal allen walker. ]

[he puts his hands together in a pleading fashion]

Could I try it just once? I've never experienced being full before.

[ a little laugh, but they nod, taking a step back and holding their hands like they're holding a bowl, or large jar. and then they frown as they think, remembering - ]

She'd made it a thousand times in front of me, and I've eaten it just as many times, so I know what it tastes like, what it looks like...

[ - and then in dust, there's a glass jar, neatly screwed shut, that begins to fill with a thick, warm, golden soup. ]

How long does it keep for?

This should keep for the week? I can probably make it for you once a week in lieu of a meal once a day, which is usually the limit we have before we have to start asking you to exchange with us.
