xie lian laughs, a little, at fun parables - they were sort of fun, sometimes. he misses guoshi, the memory suddenly bright and clear, and xie lian has to avoid it, instead giving them a little smile and taking the gracious change of subject. ]
It is always better to be on someone's good side anyhow, isn't it? Though, I suppose it makes sense, that you all must work together in harmony. The sun, the moon, the stars, the dawn, the night.
[ the little snake will continue to belelele at xie lian as rameel continues down this path of conversation. ]
We all work together in a way. We try not to step on any one else's toes would be the better way to put it. From dawn to the night, we'll be grouped and work together while the sun, moon, and stars watch from afar.
It is - all rather harmonious. Much like the gods of the Heavens in my home - even the martial gods of north, south, east, and west must get along and work together to balance conflict.
[ a smile, there. san lang chitters from his own neck position, rolling over on xie lian's neck and wriggling his paws in greeting. what a friendly boy. ] Baraqiel said that in concept, the 'Temporals' and 'Celestials' are like yin and yang. Do you think so too, Rameel?
[ they'll nod sagely to xie lian's words and rameel's snake will extend itself long enough to boop san lang with its down and a tongue flick before slithering back to rameel's neck. ]
I'd say so. Or, well, you could see us as little families. The Celestials as one family and the Temporals as another family—as to which family gets along better than the other?
That depends on how you look at things. Things are very lively where I stand.
rameel will get the feeling that xie lian has absolutely no idea what that is. ]
I am not saying that there isn't a reason. Moreso, that is exactly it...surely, there is a root problem that caused the conflict in the first place - the sort of thing that can be unraveled and dealt with.
Now, that's a great question to ask. I'm curious about what kind of conversation happened first to result in all of this, but I'm not here to ask too many questions.
[ they'll make a paw shape with one of their hands and hold it to their face. ]
[ the paw shape is cute... he lifts his hand to sort of half imitate it? is this a greeting?
they're just nya-ing at each other now i guess ]
I see...? Well, that seems even sillier. The Heavenly Emperor listens when you speak with him; what sort of leader refuses a conversation with their chosen followers or officials? A terribly inefficient system.
I'm sure many of us will have very strong words for them, if it is the latter.
[ prince xie lian voice: let me speak to your manager ]
It does seem silly to me. I think, if someone had asked me - "Will you come and help these people, and deal with these resentful spirits?" - I would have said yes in a heartbeat. To just bring me and the others here with no warning is truly odd.
I'll be excited to hear how creative some of you can get when that time comes. Maybe I should rank them? Do you think that might be pushing things?
[ chuckling softly. ]
It seems like there are others here who are in the same thinking. If you had been truly asked then you would have found yourself here regardless but there are outliers. There are always outliers.
[ he smiles a little bit at that, though, so - it's probably fine? push it i guess.
the humor shifts a little, though, brows furrowing to the next point. ] And... that is true. I cannot blame them, in this case. To be suddenly spirited away into a situation you wouldn't want to be in is quite upsetting... even so, I hope that we can unite together and try to help.
[ these are the words of an optimist - though, one who is trying hard to believe that will be the case. a realist underneath it, maybe. ]
I wouldn't call it mischievious. I just like to have a bit of fun; people have enough to be dour about without trying.
[ they'll chuckle to themselves for a moment but drop the laughter once xie lian shows off his optimism. there is a low "hmmm" sound that comes from rameel before they speak up. ]
Ah, do you? You hope that both sides can come to some sort of compromise?
Mm. It is not all that much different than two countries that hate each other, no?
[ like...xie lian at this age has been any good at that,
still. he makes a quiet, thoughtful noise. ]
I think I would want to know the situation, first - which, I don't think we are allowed to know much about. I'll do my best to get to the root of the issues, though, and soothe what has been hurt. Even the most difficult of knots, made of many parts, can be untangled, with patience and dedication given to each piece.

[ the pause comes to not surprise and san lang can meet rameel's daemon—a pink snake—that's looped around their neck loosely around their neck. blep.
they'll return the bow, however. ]
Your tutor taught you some fun parables, however I'd have to decline. The dawn belongs to Satariel and I would not like to cross them.
I like being on their good side even if I don't think I'd ever be in danger of crossing them.

Well, why can't just both families get along with each other? Whether they have more in fighting or not, does it matter?
[ why is he like this. ]

Maybe because there's a reason why the two families can't get along. You know, like the story of Romeo and Juliet.

It was in shambles the moment it became clear that none of you were here because you wanted to. Or perhaps it was even before that.

Now, let's see if they'll get their act together or if things will continue to be a mess. Which one do you think it'll be?
