I'm the head servant of the castle, and milady's handmaiden, so I'm pretty busy, yeah. But I get free time - I like to read, obviously. And I garden, but that's work, too.

It did take time, but it was well worth it. And I did it while pretending that I didn't know how to read, so it was something hard earned that way, too. I wasn't given papers often because of it.
Reading is more for the rich, where I'm from. Where milady is from, the education is better, but it was... easier, I guess, to keep pretending. And I got so used to keeping secrets that it just happened naturally.

Detective Robin...ah, likely a fictional detective from your novels, yes? I can't say I've ever heard of the name before. How do they go around solving mysteries?
Detective Robin is the titular main character of a series of novels, yeah. [ lacing their fingers and holding their hand over their heart, speaking with fondness. ] They're a real nose to the grind sort of person, and don't give up on anything, no matter what or how hard the case may be. Not no-nonsense, really, though sometimes they're the only sane man in the room, but they're not by the book at all. They'll do a lot of things and try more outlandish ways of solving cases.
