you are now at a bus stop. it's an old fashioned thing; a wooden shelter with torn and faded posters slapped up haphazardly on all its walls. it looks a bit rickety and worn down. like it might not even keep you dry if it rained - but luckily there's no need to worry about that. the scenery is green and lush with summer. you can hear cicadas. forever.
you are at the edge of a quiet village. somehow, you know that this is hinamizawa. you don't know much else, but it's familiar to you. you know the layout of it like the back of your hand.
you know how to get to the run-down building that's been turned into an all-grades school. you know how to get to the shrine, in front of a shed with doors that must not be opened. you know how to get to the river, where the events of the summer festival always end. and you know how to head into the nearby town, with its family restaurant, game shop, and book store. and you know how to get to the dump, where one person's trash could be another person's treasure!
